Day 45 – The Old Fort Niagara Diet Spoon

The history of Old Fort Niagara, in Youngstown, New York, spans more than 300 years. The building featured on this spoon is the “French Castle” which was built in 1726.

The spoon isn’t haunted, but Old Fort Niagara is. Many people have reported seeing the ghost of a French soldier who was beheaded in a duel. He now wanders the grounds, looking for his head.

The box this spoon came in declared it to be a “diet spoon.” Get it? Because it’s got a hole in the bowl! Oh, Fort Niagara, you funny.
