Day 89 – The Dawson Creek Spoon

Dawson Creek, British Columbia gets its nickname “Mile 0 City” from having the distinction of being the start of the Alaskan Highway in Canada.

The beginning of the Alaskan Highway in Dawson Creek, British Columbia is marked by the Mile 0 post. (Photo by Travis on Flickr.)

It is not related in any way to “Dawson’s Creek”, the fictional town in the TV series of the same name.

The Dawson Creek spoon features a crest at the top of the handle with an illustration of the Mile 0 marker. The word in the bowl reads “Farmington.”
