Day 104 – The King’s Island Spoon

I’ve only been to King’s Island in Ohio once, and if there were rides, I don’t remember going on them.

I was 7 years old, traveling with my parents on a two-week tour of the east coast to see my cousins, aunts, and uncles. My Aunt Bet (mom’s sister) took us to King’s Island and literally the only memory I have from that day was having my first ever frozen chocolate-covered banana in front of the replica of the Eiffel Tower. I was in heaven.

This spoon is not from that trip—I picked it up on eBay during a recent wave of nostalgia. The spoon collecting craze hit me several days after we visited King’s Island, when we went to Gloucester, Massachusetts to visit my Great Aunt Kit…but that’s a story for July 19.
