Day 125 – The 1915 Pan American Exposition Spoon

The 1915 Panama-American Exposition opened in San Francisco, California on March 2, 1915. This spoon shows off the Horticultural Palace at the expo, which was 185 feet tall and had a glass dome larger than St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

Like most of the temporary architecture, the Horticultural Palace was destroyed at the end of the expo. The only surviving building is the Palace of Fine Arts.
